Celebrating the hummingbird brain!

Enough about the hard stuff. Let’s celebrate the hummingbirds in all their glory! 👍🏼💫🕺🏽💜

We are the ones that use the power of procrastination to get that dopamine hit and do the work of 3 days in a matter of hours. ⚡️

The hummingbird brain is starving for novelty!! We are the ones who through our outwardly disengaged daydreaming, can come up with creative solutions that draw together seemingly unrelated ideas and build a new concepts. (Ok we’re not all DaVinci or Einstein’s but there is evidence that they had ADHD)

AND we wonder. 🤔 We ask the curious questions and like the birds eye view, the full picture. We’re not stuck in the details.

We ARE that limitless shit! We have BOUNDLESS creativity and energy! Many hummingbirds can channel this into being exceptional at sports (Serena Williams, Simone Biles) or the arts (Emma Watson, Chelsea Handler, Ellen) (all ADHDer’s!)

We know what it’s like to be the underdog, not fitting in, which can lead many hummingbirds to be extremely compassionate and empathetic

When our hyperactive thoughts are focused we have  ability to persevere! Many hummingbirds work 2/3x as hard as neurotyoiclas to keep up.

We might not remember your phone number but if you told us a story about yourself that was authentic, and deep, we will remember WHO you are. Many ADHD’ers have a very keen memory and observation for the information that is relevant to them. Because of our overload of sensory input we might not filter out the details others have and some can feel a heightened sense of intuition because of this.

.

We can be multitasking rock stars! For some that gives us a sense of awesomeness is when we can do 100 things at once, I’m not saying we do them all exceptionally well but we can get it done! 🐙

.

Come to us when you’re in a crisis! Studies show ADHD brains have more theta waves (😴) but when there is a crisis neurotypical 🧠 go into overdrive/ overwhelm hummingbird 🧠 hit NORMAL!

.

Due to our impulsivity we might say the things that no one else wants to say (or hear!) which can be a good thing. Sometimes. 😬

.

We like to explore, try new things, push the boundaries, take risks! 🤾🏾‍♀️
